San Franciscans survive the deterioration of public services and the exacerbation of hunger in the municipality

The Zulian municipality of San Francisco, was founded in 1995 and is located on the western shore of the Lake, south of Maracaibo. It is the second smallest municipality in Zulia state after Almirante Padilla, but it currently suffers from very big problems.

The situation in terms of livelihoods, food, public services and infrastructure in San Francisco is described as «critical», in relation to what was documented by the Commission for Human Rights of the Zulia State (Codhez) in its Bulletin General situation of the Human Rights – San Francisco, where the condition of the complex humanitarian emergency is evident, especially in vulnerable populations such as girls, boys, adolescents, women and the elderly.
